Manzoni Estate Vineyard on River Road
Unique features: In 1999, after farming in the Salinas Valley for three generations, the Manzoni family converted six acres of vine rootstock at the base of the Santa Lucia Highlands into Pinot Noir grapes. The tasting room is located in the center of this picturesque vineyard. Also have new tasting room in downtown Carmel that is open daily.
Wine portfolio: Home vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Zinfandel and Bella Vino Port.
Directions: From Hwy. 68 near Salinas, take River Road south 16 miles, or, from Hwy. 101 in Gonzales, take first Gonzales exit from either direction, go into Gonzales, turn west onto Gonzales River Road at the Valero gas station, go approximately 2.5 miles, cross bridge, turn left on River Road and continue one mile.

Odonata South on River Road
Unique features: Relax in the newly remodeled patio area with a wind wall, fire pit, lush seating and landscaping. Bring a picnic and stay awhile. Small lots of many different wines. Family owned and operated. They work hard to make wines we all love to drink. Kid/people/pet friendly.

Pessagno Winery on River Road
Unique features: The sister winery of Puma Road, Pessagno Winery is located on the River Road passage way that winds through the Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation. Here you can relax in the newly remodeled tasting room and adjoining patio area while savoring superb wines from Ray Franscioni’s famed vineyards in Monterey and San Benito County. The remodeled tasting room and patio are perfect for private parties and casual gatherings. On site is a lovely, fully equipped two-bedroom cottage available for holiday and vacation rental.
Wine portfolio: Pessagno offers over a dozen wines for tasting and purchase, including current releases, reserve wines and such vineyard-designated varietals as Dry Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel.

Puma Road Winery on River Road
Unique features: The sister winery of Pessagno Winery, Ray Franscioni’s Puma Road Winery & Tasting Room on River Road near Gonzales serves wines made from the finest grapes grown in the Santa Lucia Highlands and Gabilan Foothills and in Paicines in San Benito County, Something is always going on here. Maybe a BBQ, a local history discussion or a talk with family members. Come by and join the party.
Wine portfolio: All Puma Road wines are 100% estate grown and bottled and feature 2011 and 2012 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris as well as a full line of single varietal Bordeaux and unique blends.
Directions: From Hwy 68 near Salinas, take River Road south about 17 miles. From Hwy 101 in Gonzales, take first exit from either direction, go into town and turn west on Gonzales River Road. Go across bridge to River Road, turn left, go 2 miles.

Zeph’s in Salinas
Unique features: Under one roof is an excellent lifestyle oriented selection of fine wines, high-end spirits, and beers from around the world. The wine bar is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and offers 24 wines by the glass while providing a warm, at-home atmosphere. Services include party hosting, special orders, shipping of wine, beer and spirits and holiday gift packages beautifully designed by Cheryl Worthy in the gift department.

Scheid Vineyards - Greenfield
Unique features: Tasting room is in a 100-year-old restored barn. Demonstration vineyard, bocce ball court and observation deck with far-reaching views.
Wine portfolio: Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Muscato, Late Harvest Riesling, Sangiovese, Triple Layer Red and White, Albariño, Grenache Blanc, Odd Lot White and Red, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Grenache. Along with nine reserve wines which include four Pinot Noirs.
Directions: Located 4 miles south of Greenfield, just off of Highway 101 at Hobson Ave. Look for the American flag.
Hours: Daily 11-5. 
Facilities: Vineyard Pavilion and Reserve Barrel Room available for weddings, quinceaneras, private dinners and other special events for 10 to 200 people.

Salinas Valley / River Road
Chalone Estate Vineyard in the Gabilans
Unique features: Monterey County's First Winery. One of the most remarkable winery properties in all of California. Perched at 1800 feet above the Salinas Valley, this rugged vineyard sits at the base of an extinct volcano bordering Pinnacles National Park. The site was chosen for its limestone soils similar to those in Burgundy, France.
Wine portfolio: Pinot Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Reserve Pinot Noir, Grenache, and Syrah produced from Heritage and Estate vines. 
Directions: Highway 101 to Front Street exit in Soledad. Turn off Front Street onto East Street. Turn right onto CA-146 E / Metz Road. Turn left onto CA-146. Turn left onto Stonewall Canyon Road, go about one mile to tasting room.
